Mr Lim Leong Hwee
graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and holds a
Bachelor degree in Science. He worked for 3 years in the petrochemical
industry but eventually decides to make a career switch to pursue his
dream as a teacher. Up to date, he has 8 years of tutoring experience and
has done many relief teaching assignments in primary schools. He is
currently undergoing training in NIE.
My Teaching Philosophy
""I always believe that apart
from helping students to acquire the necessary mathematical concepts and
skills to excel in their school examinations, it is also vital to help
them develop critical thinking and problem–solving skills that they can
apply in the real world.
When teaching children mathematics, I like to adopt a diverse range of
learning activities (such as the use of ICT tools, concrete materials,
etc) to engage them and make learning of mathematics meaningful and at the
same time, enjoyable. It is also my aim to help children develop abilities
to reason logically and to learn to work with their peers in the class
through cooperative and collaborating learning.
At the end of the day, I want to excite children’s passion of acquiring
knowledge and lessen their fear in failure.”
